What to Do in Orlando When it Rains
Although it might technically be nicknamed “The Sunshine State,” Florida experiences rain at an average of more than 100 days out of the year. But lucky for those in Orlando and all around Central Florida, there’s still plenty to do even when the weather is less than perfect.
Opt for limousine transportation: There’s nothing worse than driving in the rain, especially when you’re traveling in a group. Hiring a limo for transportation ensures a safe, affordable trip for everyone, no matter where you’re headed.
Explore Florida’s numerous water parks: Orlando is home to some of the best water parks in the country, including Wet ‘n Wild, SeaWorld’s Aquatica, Discovery Cove, and more. Since some water parks have restrictions during more tumultuous weather conditions, be sure to check with customer service when going on a rainy day.
Shop at the Mall at Millenia: Since many of Orlando’s shopping centers are set up in open-air plaza styles, a rainy day creates a good opportunity to go shopping at the upscale Mall at Millenia. The mall includes high-end, designer stores like Versace, Burberry, and Gucci, with several dining and drinking hot-spots like The Capital Grille and Brio Tuscan Grille.
Learn something new at the Orlando Science Center: With new exhibits regularly circulating and special events scheduled throughout the year, there’s always something to see at this vast educational facility. Since you won’t be able to see the night sky in the rain, make sure to check out the many space-themed films showing at the Dr. Phillips CineDome.
